About Me

Kathy Matthes received her Masters of Professional Writing (2006) and Master of Science in Education (1995) degrees from the University of Southern California, where she also worked for 16 years as a computer consultant, writer/editor, webmaster and instructional technologist. She has a variety of writing experience in a wide variety of business and educational settings.

An avid horsewoman, she taught dressage and combined training at the L.A. Equestrian Center for 14 years, where she also designed educational programs and websites, edited an equestrian newsletter, compiled training manuals, established a student riding club, brought the prestigious British Horse Society’s training programs to the West Coast, and published articles in top equestrian magazines.

Since 2002, she has worked as an adjunct faculty at several online colleges, where she has taught educational technology classes to K-12 teachers, advanced business and advanced technical writing, English composition, Introduction to Film, Communication in Healthcare, Academic Information Literacy, and Interdisciplinary Studies classes online. She was a writing consultant at a college online writing center for 11 years, where she tutored undergraduate and graduate students in all stages of the writing process.

She enjoys working on her stories2music project. She lives in San Diego with her Whipador dog Story, who has her own Audio Dog Blog on the stories2music website.
